Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Ontroz ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Ontroz.

Ontroz provides a platform for creating AI-powered chatbots trained on your own content. You may train chatbots on URLs, uploaded documents, and raw text, and embed them on your websites.

You agree not to use Ontroz to:

• Train chatbots on content you do not own or have rights to use
• Crawl websites in violation of their Terms of Service or robots.txt
• Generate or distribute illegal, harmful, or misleading content
• Attempt to circumvent plan limits through automated account creation
• Resell or sublicense the Service without written permission
• Use the free plan as a substitute for a paid plan through repeated account cycling

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. All paid plans include a 7-day free trial for first-time subscribers. A valid payment method is required to start a trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends.

If you cancel during the trial, you will not be charged. If you cancel after the trial, you retain access until the end of the current billing period — there are no partial refunds. Refunds may be granted at our discretion for accounts with fewer than 50 messages sent and fewer than 20 pages indexed.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes do not apply to the current billing period.

After cancellation or subscription expiry, your data is retained for a grace period as described in our Privacy Policy (30 / 60 / 90 days for vectors, messages, and account data respectively). If you resubscribe within 30 days, all data is preserved intact.

You retain full ownership of your training content and any data you bring to Ontroz. You grant Ontroz a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and store your content solely to provide the Service to you.

Ontroz retains ownership of the platform, its codebase, and all AI infrastructure.

We aim for 99.5% monthly uptime but do not guarantee it. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible. We are not liable for losses arising from downtime.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ontroz is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages including lost profits, data loss, or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these terms, non-payment, or abuse of the platform. We will provide notice where reasonably practicable. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Mumbai, India.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
